Renting a truck and breaking your back aren't your only options. Fill out the info below and you'll instantly see a list of estimated quotes for all the available moving options that fit your move.
Very cost effective, and you have complete and utter control over every aspect of your move.
You have to ask your friends & family to help you move, again. There goes your weekend, and maybe even your back!
You won't break your back or the bank! Takes minutes to book movers on your phone through HireAHelper.
You have to take more time to research your options and spend a little more than the DIY move.
Someone else does all the work on moving day!
Takes days rather than minutes to get quotes. You may have to file for bankruptcy after the move. Seriously.
The truck check-out process was very smooth, the guy even gave me a free padlock! Driving a truck for the first time on city streets was harrowing but it worked out. I ran into some mechanical issues getting the truck out of the city (turns out I was just overreacting), and the 24/7 help service was fantastic. They have a ton of empathy, they care and make followup calls and check in on you, even the onsite tech who'd been on duty for 12 hours at that point was chatty and took the vehicle for a spin around the neighborhood to suss out what was going on. I felt super well taken care-of, and that doesn't happen much (especially in the moving business!). I can't see me ever trying a different truck rental company.
The informational videos provided by UPack were dated and no longer applied to the equipment they provided, but they also provided additional equipment that I was not expecting. The dispatchers and drivers were very friendly and took time to explain to us how everything worked and our next steps in the process.
I've used this company before. We used a large trailer. They drop it off, you fill it, they pick it up and take it to your new location. Its important to pack you own stuff well so that it does not get damaged on the trip. We wrapped our furniture in blankets as well as shrink wrap. Boxes need to be sturdy, especially if on the bottom of the pile. By doing some or all of the packing or loading yourself, you spend less on the move. The large trailer comes with a ramp, so be ready to work with that as you load or unload. The trailer floor is about 4 feet off the ground. We hired loaders for most of the heavy lifting, but also did some of the work ourselves. When you learn which phone numbers to use for what, you can get all your questions answered and handle the details.
UPack was fine aside from the mixed stories I got from their Sales folks. The first told me the units were airtight, leak-proof and stored in a warehouse between moves. Once the units arrived, I called and asked where the warehouse was located only to learn they don't use a warehouse. They store the cubes in an uncovered lot they own. When we unpacked, one of the cubes had leaked and we lost one piece of furniture due to mold. I'm guessing that one cube was damaged. ABF was good to work with aside from a staff member at the Savannah ,location who was quite rude. Diane and her team in Atlanta were amazing on the delivery side! They were kind, professional and caring. THANK YOU!
